Daddy Makes It Rain

Have you noticed Dick Cheney, out of bed all week defending in staunch terms the keeping of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay? He does pick his battles, but when he does he is all over the airwaves. Even differing with The President on this one, Cheney insists that the US has 'No Plans' to close the prison at Guantanamo, on the heels of an unfavorable report from Amnesty International describing the prison as 'an American Gulag'. What Mr. Cheney neglected to mention was that this just comes at a bad time, when it was quietly announced that Halliburton, his former company, has just recieved a contract to build the new prison at Gitmo, to the tune of $30 million with options for up to $500 million.

Now ain't that perty. And not a hint of conflict of interest.
