Oh, way to go

The Italian jounalist and hostage Giuliana Sgrena was freed from her Iraqi captors today, only to be shot and wounded by US troops firing at the convoy carrying her to safety. Nicola Calipari, the Italian intelligence agent responsible for her release, was killed when he threw himself over Sgrena to protect her from U.S. fire. Italian authorities say that 300 to 400 rounds were fired at the car. The U.S. military had no immediate comment, although as we know, they don't actually *target* journalists, they just keep hitting them.
